In general, the procedures are not painful. While they both involved injections for both tissue or blood extraction and administration of the therapy, anesthetic is administered to keep discomfort to a minimum. After the procedure the treatment areas may be sore, but this is typically an indication that healing is taking place.
Both PRP and Stem Cell Therapy are conducted as out-patient procedures. The procedures themselves may take 1-2 hours and there may be 2-3 procedures needed.
Both PRP and stem cell therapies are new and, as such, may not be covered by your insurance. Check with your insurance carrier to understand your coverage options.
Adult stem cells are present in adult bodies and are used by the body to promote healing. While adult stem cells are found in many areas of the body, the most common sources are bone marrow or fat tissue. Typically, stem cells are harvested from the hip/pelvis, as there is a large concentration of cells and they are accessible in this area.
Tampa Stem Cell Therapy does not use embryonic stem cells. ESCs must be obtained through in vitro fertilizations, which raises ethical concerns. Additionally, with ESCs there is a possibility of immune system rejection, as the cells are not native to the patient’s body.
Because the material used in the treatment is from your own body immune system suppressants are not needed and there is little chance of rejection. Tampa Stem Cell Therapy does not use embryonic stem cells which have been shown to form teratomas (germ cell tumors). Tampa Stem Cell Therapy can provide results of clinical procedures studying the safety of PRP and Stem Cell Therapy.
